Be very careful if you are asked to ship a boat abroad. We received the following warning based on one members experience

Just to let you know about an attempted scam. Tom advertised his boat on the 420 website. He received an offer for the boat and then a cheque for double the amount arrived along with a story that Tom would be asked to pass on the balance to a shipping agent. Discussed with the police who say it is a well known scam. The cheque Tom received will be stolen against a credit card. the idea is that the cheque intially clears OK, Tom sends on the balance to an address and then some weeks later someone receives a bill on their credit card that they know nothing about.
