Big 420 turn-out for BUS/RYA Match Racing Qualifier II

We await news, but seven of the eleven skippers and 17 of the sailors, by our count, were due to race at the second BUSA MR qualifier at Queen Mary this weekend…..in spite of serious damage to the boats before the sailors even got there Thanks to those RYA bosuns working through the night on Thursday, it was hoped that they could sail. See BUSA Press Release.

So, with only two boats without a 420 sailor, we are not sure who to support! London 1 has Jonny Frazer (you would need quite a long memory to remember him in the fleet, but he spread his talents among some of the top helms in his day). Ben Pym leads Solent 1, Ed Moore and Robbie Claridge are with Imperial. Maia Walsh of Cardiff is joined by Chris Sanders and Ollie Bennett. James Goss and Will Rusden are leading for Warwick again. James Thomas skippers Brunel 1 and Emanuel Koechert, their second boat. Tim Saxton has the most 420-packed J80, with Alice Currey, Kate Allam and James Kitt. Last, but not least, Chris Witty, supported by old-timer Nick Blevins, is helming Solent 2.
