End of Season, 20th/21st November

Well we all turned up on a freezing cold November morning (about minus 20 I think) and started rigging our boats watching the glass like lake of Draycote glow.

It got to about 3 Oclock and the race officer decided to send us out in the artic conditions to sail in about 4 knots. We managed to get 1 race in with a bit of drifting for most of the fleet to get over the line! Rach and Maia showed everyone the old folks still have it, by winning the 1st race all the way round. It then decided to get dark so we all drifted in to get ready for the disco held at the club later.

Well the partya good night was had by all, judging by the faces in the dinghy park in the morning! Robbie was the nights entertainment, once we eventually managed to get people up dancing, by showing us some break dancing. Anyone would have thought he had been practising (he claims it didn't hurt, maybe it did in the morning)!! A couple of other well known figures disappeared cough cough (Jodie and Will) apparently the attic is quite comfy, who even knew Draycote had an attic?!

Sunday morning came, and a bit more wind with it. We managed to get in 4 more races (unfortunate for some!) Han and Peg won race 2 with Tom and James C in 2nd with Ed and Will 3rd. Race 3 won by Maria and Catherine showing the girlies were out in force, unfortunately not all day with Rich and Dan winning the 4th but Han and Peg bringing the score ratio 4:1 to the girlies after the 5th.

Overall the event was won by Ed and Will with a nice consistant score line, well done guys! With Claire and Claire in 2nd and Han and Peg 3rd.A big thanks to Draycote sailing club for hosting a really good event.
