Here are a few points to help you get started in the 420 Class

Look for a boat. Ask for a copy of the Class Association's guide to what to look for in a secondhand one (free to members).

Join the Class Association. For just �20 per year you will receive the 420 magazine, a handbook, tuning guides etc. and you will be eligible for National and Inland Championships.

There are many schools which also use the 420 dinghy as one of their main classes.

Be eligible to enter British National Championships.

Get "On The Wire", the class magazine, 3 times a year
